In questo breve articolo la nostra attenzione è focalizzata sul lavoro di un brillante scienziato di Poppi (Toscana), Francesco Folli, teorico della trasfusione di sangue. Egli ha riportato le sue teorie e i suoi esperimenti nella "Stadera Medica", un vero tesoro per la storia della farmacologia. Il sangue viene descritto per la prima volta come una medicina che può essere trasferita da una persona a un'altra per ottenere un effetto terapeutico.
In this short paper, our attention is focused on the work of a brilliant scientist from Poppi (Tuscany), Francesco Folli, the theorist of the blood transfusion. He reported his theories and his experiments in the "Stadera Medica", a real treasure for the History of Pharmacology. The blood is described for the first time as a medicine, which can be trasferred from a person to another one in order to obtain a therapeutic effect.
